It's a 5 speed behind a 22r, 2 wheel drive. I'm told it came out of a '79 pickup
It has an aluminum bell housing and tail shaft and a cast iron middle.
1st, 3rd & 5th are forward, then you shift into R by moving all the way to the right then back. thanks

Because of the obvious steel gear housing and year of the vehicle it came out of, I'd say it's the W50.
Often called the "steel-case" transmission for its steel shell, in contrast to the later W-series transmissions' aluminium case. This transmission is mostly associated with early Celicas of the 1970s. It is also shorter from the bellhousing face to the transmission mount than the later aluminium case W-series transmissions, despite using the same mount.

thanks CplE, I'm under the impression it's a w50. I have since been told (and then read it on Wikipedia) the 22r started with the 81 Toyotas. O man, the way these parts get swapped around!
