83 release bearing hub (parts help)

so long story short. I was having trouble shifting into gears using the clutch, rpm matched shifts are no problem. we pulled the motor and low and behold the the release bearing hub was resting on the input shaft. the bearing had seized and spun the hub off the fork, and completely wallowed out the hub.

I can find no local parts house that carries the hub. i can get it through toyota but it will take 3-4 weeks. Can anyone point me in the direction of where i can find the hub and still be able to overnight it, i am also willing to drive to get it (haha)

thanks guys
miles

Depending on where you are: junkyard. You'll be able to find one in the classified section of this site or others, but it ain't going to happen overnight.

Here's the links page from the wiki. I've been adding to it for quite awhile now. Lot's of part sources there.

Also here's another Toyota dismantler. Bought a speedo cable from him last week.

If you're looking for used parts the BEST site on the web is definitely Car-Part.com

mhdie,

Are you referring to the release bearing collar or your transmission nose cone? I imagine they both got damaged?

I realize it's been more than 1 day since you posted up. While we only sell the release bearing on our store website (pictured below), we do have plenty of good used collars in stock that we'd be happy to ship your way. We also have refurbished nose cones available if you are having a tough time finding replacement parts. Please let me know via PM if interested!

Regards,
BigMike
