'83 drive shaft length

Can somebody please tell me the factory length of the rear driveshaft (installed) for my '83 pickup. I've measured 57" from the flange at the transfer case to the flange on the rear dif but I'm not entirely certain I'm running with the original four speed transmission so the length might be thrown off. I know it sounds like a dumb question but this Frankenstein is so pieced together I just want to know where to start.

On my stock '81 4x4 with a 5 speed, I measure 58 1/2" from top of the mounting flanges. Don't doubt if that will help, since yours a 4 speed. Just throwing it out there for reference.

Actually that helps a lot. That shaft would fit my application perfect. I'll see what eBay has to offer...also, really like your build up. You mentioned that your shop is too small, but it's better than the driveway dude. I'm trying to get my garage cleaned before the snow flies here because there's nothing worse than busting your knuckles on an engine when it's 20 degrees outside. Thanks for the info.

Oh yes there is, -20 degrees I gotta get a portable forced air heater

If you're building a rig for wheelin and DD call Jessy at High Angle. Prices aren't bad for a beefy drive shaft and you don't have to worry about pretzeling it on a trail.
