22R rebuild
Rebuilding my 22R long block soon. What are some good (but not $$$$+) companies that sell the parts, and how much can I expect to pay for milling?

Generally expect to spend 700-1000 dollars after machining for a proper rebuild that will last over 200,000 miles. It's hard to specify. You may need boring, line-boring of the mains, a head shave, valve work, etc... Don't skip out on machining. You'll regret it and so will your wallet.
Stock rebuild kits are cheap and plentiful, try northern auto parts, engnbldr (highly reccomend) and LCE if you want the Whole Foods experience.

I got my head from them as well when I rebuilt my 87 22r.
I think I spent about $2000 for my rebuild. I replaced everything but the block, crank, intake and carb. Since the motor was out I replaced the clutch.
I could have gotten a Crate engine but by redoing my own I know it was done right with NO short cuts.
One mistake I made was trying to hurry, Whats the old saying? Pay me now or pay me later, in the end you will pay me. This applies to time as well as money.
