About like what would be a good first vehicle!!

It all comes down to what types and thickness of materials you want to cut???

Then your budget comes into play!! Do you have a good enough supply of clean dry air.

You can`t go wrong with the latest models from Hypertherm or Thermal Dynamics .

I would sit down and figure your needs then do your home work.:jessica:

I agree with wyoming09,

You need to figure out what you need first.

12Amps? 25Amps? 40Amps? 50Amps? More?

The general rule of thumb is 100Amps is equal to 1" of cutting power.

Therefore, If you need to cut material that is 1/2" thick, you'd use a 50Amp or greater machine.

About clean air, HAVE IT! Dirty and/or wet air is a major cause of machine failure with these plasma cutters. Do yourself a favor and get a filter.

I fix welders and plasma cutters for a living. I prefer Hypertherm over all others.

The Powermax 30 is a nice little unit, small and compact. Plus you get a 3yr warranty.

Hope this helps! Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions!
