Sort of my point the cut off on my ecodes is nice and flat with a little raised focus effect on the right corner away from on coming traffic... I don't want to cause hassles for other driver's either.

That's cool. I only wish they came in colors other than 6000k.

Has anyone else tried these? I'm interested but I don't want to spend the money on these if a retro-fit using different parts is going to be substantially better. Also I want to get the DDMTuning HID kit and just use these projectors. Would that work?

Don't know if it would work or not but i don't see why not. On the other hand the I have the DDM tuning HID's. I ordered there slim ballast 55 watt 8000K HID. You can see it in my avatar. I can give you good feedback with them. I haven't had problems with the kit...

Alright, thanks for the quick response. That good to hear that you like the DDM Tuning HID's. It's looking like I'll be making the switch to HID's next month.

If you are lazy, and swimming in cash, you can try these...

http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/...ire-Trucks.htm

It's a 6054 housing already altered to accept hid bulbs and ballasts, made for a fire engine, but would be direct fit for our rigs.

If you have a grand laying around for headlights, that is.

Interesting find. I was thinking of doing something to my wife's '01 Runner and it looks like an option.

how does the bi-xenon part work? does it come with a single filament bulb, then just moves the projector? or does it move the shield?

Yodamonster,
There is a single HID bulb with a moving shield.

Rob,
My runner has the sealed beam headlight which should be the same as a 1st gen 4runner so it would be the same as the headlights pics I posted earlier.

Great thank you for the info, I will most definitely be doing this mod as soon as I get a new motor...

Were you able to choose what bulb size you want and what temperature?

Well the HID bulb is going to be the same, but you tell them what bulb size you have so the projector will fit your head light. The HID bulb that fits the projectors is a D2S bulb. The kits only come with the 6000k color, but you can buy a different bulb and have a set of back up bulbs. 6000k is the best color IMO anyway so I was fine with it.

Thanks. I emailed the company and the lady said I could get whatever temperature and bulb size. I need 9004's not H4's like you have so that's why I asked.

good to hear that they are allowing people to change out the color temps in the kits. What gen rig you putting the projectors in? You should post up some pics when you're done with the install.

Well, I just got an email from the company stating they were out of 9004 bulbs for my 92 4Runner so they refunded my money and I am going to purchase a kit elsewhere. I will definitely post pictures after the install.

So you bought a new headlight housing for this mod? Is there an advantage of doing that? I want to do this, but want to keep the stock headlight housing. Is that not advisable?

i got this kit(comes with hid ballasts and bulbs, along with the projectors) and im really impressed, i wasnt expecting much, but for such a cheap projector they are pretty decent. not a great cutoff line, but its still not too bad considering. here is a couple shots, i havent aimed them properly or anything yet, the projector was too long in my housings, my glass cover would hit the lens of the projector before it sat down into its seat, i just goobered up the space all around the cover, and it turned out fine.

high beam
