Recently 85excab listed a "v6 4.56 3rd with a true track" for sale in the classifieds. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f11/...d-3rds-232720/. I asked if the Detroit True Trac was in good working order and was told it was in great working order.
Once this was confirmed, I jumped on it immediately, it being exactly what I wanted. After I received the 3rd member I began researching what I needed to do for the install. While I was at Zuk's website (gearinstalls.com) I noticed that my Detroit True Trac did not look like the other ones he had installed. Upon further inspection I noticed that I had a "lunch box locker" installed.
I contacted 85excab, informing him of the situation, and got the response "i sold this to u as a locker and not a lsd, sorry i called it a trrue track instead of a lock rite, but i cant afford to eat $100 in shipping. there were quite a few others interested in it if u want to sell it on here and get your money back.its a detroit lunch box locker, i never said it had a lsd"
I informed him that I only bought this because it was listed as a True Trac and I did not want a "lunch box locker." I also stated that the other people interested in it would be expecting what was listed for sale (True Trac) and not what they received.
I offered to ship it back to him (at my expense) if he would refund my money. I have sent him a couple of pm's with no response.
Now he seems to be ignoring me and has changed his public profile so that I can not see if he has been on Yotatech and seen my pm's.
I am only asking for him to refund my money and I will ship the 3rd member back to him, at my expense.
I wonder what he would think if I did this to him.

Needless to say, the Staff is aware of the problem so we'll be looking to see if he replies.
Thanks,

I don't know what to do. Last night I opened a dispute against him through PayPal. I guess I will see how that goes.
I never thought something like this would happen on here. I have been on here a long time and I guess I thought that I would not get ripped off by someone on here (that has sold several things in the past). I figured once I let him know it was not what I was expecting, he would let me send it back to him. I was way wrong.
Thanks to everyone that has looked in this situation. I really appreciate it.

PayPal usually makes the right choice.
Document your claim as much as possible.
I had to go after a deadbeat customer last month myself.
Good luck.
Please post the outcome.

Brian closed it. :wabbit2:
If PayPal needs something from a Staff member verifying what the initial thread says - I'd be happy to contact them for you.

Right now I am waiting for him to respond to PayPal.
I am not sure if he will or not because he knows he is at fault.
