Disabling the Daytime Running Lights (3rd Gen)
5/4/2003

Adam (Ducky on the forums) shows you how he disabled the DRL feature so the headlights would not be on all the time, as some don't like to run the lights during the day time.

First of all Let's review the Toyota TSB that everyone may or may not have seen... (click to enlarge)

Now those instructions are ok, but was vague for me.... But ok... time to look for
the Main Relay... under the dash on my 2001 Drivers side above the gas pedal
there was a box that looked like this: (Click to Enlarge)

So there it is!!! Go back and disconnect your Battery, then go back to this relay,
pull off the white connector... (Click to enlarge)

Find Pin 2, which is the one cut off in the picture... cut it and tape back the cut wire,
I cut it 1/2 up between the tape holding the wires together and above the connector
just in case I want to reverse my changes.

Remember to Plug back in the connector to the relay, it may sound stupid, but After
these pictures were taken, I got distracted and forgot... then I wondered why my
headlights were not working.... Woops... but anyways, there you go, Visual instructions...

If you choose to do this mod good luck, and if you have any questions  (Ducky) on the Yotatech Forum.
