True Flow Air Filter

Just installed a True Flow I purchased from Jason Burtman... Very impressed with the quality of this filter out of the box. The frame of this thing is rigid as hell...Fit in the airbox is tight. It fits with very close tolerances and I had to check three times just to make sure it was installed correctly before closing the cover.

Didn't get a chance to test drive yet since the wind is blowin like a Beach and didn't figure I could tell if there was going to be any performance gain...

Looking forward to a test drive in the morning...

I love this filter!!!! Didn't take 200 miles for me to notice a Diff! I installed Friday night but didn't drive until Sat. Put about 20 miles on with a wind blowing but still noticed more power when pulling away from a dead stop. Truck also shifted a bit smoother. This was all on roads I really don't drive on much. REAL test was today on the way to work. In addition to what I have mentioned previously I also notice on some hills where the truck would usually downshift from high gear that it just motored thru with no downshifting. I wanted to see if this would improve so I tried to duplicate the way I normally drive this road, speed etc. This filter impresses me. I've put about 50 miles on so far, should I expect it to get better? If not that's fine it impressed the hell out of me now!

I think you will be impressed with this...I usually drive with an Egg Shell under the pedel...Even doing that you will notice a Diff... Please install and drive as you normally do... I noticed the biggest improvement on roads I normally drive every day and that will be the true test.

BTW...I should also add that I have a stock Air Box...No Deck Plate...Yet!

One thing I did notice was a huge improvement in performance, but that could have been because the stock paper filter that I had was a bit plugged up. Well needless to say my mileage increased and going up steep grades are much easier.

Next step is to order the complete intake system, that way I can have a spare filter on hand......

I removed PAPER also and I may add it had less than 10K street miles!

Adam, contact Jason B. and he can give you the info and prices if there is one.

Wow, I'm amazed there was such a performance improvement, I thought it was just a plus to have a foam filter and it be reusable...I'm really pumped now!

The air box and filter should be the same, so the filter for those trucks should fit my 88

How well does it filter in dusty conditions? I saw the marketing vids, but would like to hear from real folks.

andries, i saw the demo in person and was quite impressed. i'm gonna try to see if i can get my hands on one soon but it won't be for awhile though... plus i have the internal snorkel so it really defeats it but nonetheless it's definitely better than the stock filter!

Cool. It seems I'm going through air filters at a record rate this year. I used to swap every 10k miles, but lately they seem to need replacement every 5K. Sand, dust, yada yada. Pismo seems to be the main culprit or should I say dune hopping and racing

I have used K&N on road cars, which works great in that application. However I don't trust them for an offroad vehicle due to the amount of dirt that gets through. Hence I have been sceptical of any aftermarket filter, especially since the Toy unit is a good quality one.

Well might as well try one and see

Need a snorkel on my 4R, I prefer the submarine type as I like my cabin quiet.
