i am not here very much but i would never drop a grand into a 22re. the 2.7 wins hands down. you may need 500 to 1 grand if you can do the install yourself. powersteering line made, custom motor mounts, some fuel line, ramdom coolant lines. u get the idea. knickel and dime stuff that adds up. my projects are on hold due to house work as well. nothing like placing buckets to catch water in the house when it rains. ha 5k roof says no e-locker high pinion w/ 5.29 gears for my truck.
hey man, did you do the swap with the 2.7? i am pulling my truck apart and building it into a ext. cab with double t-cases. i have a 3.4 for a swap now but i am choosing to use the 2.7 again. it is a happy powerful motor right off the bat. when i get it going i may play with turboing it even though the trails don't need boost, that would be for the upper end since i will street drive it as well. boost would not build until after 3500 rpms so i would not be spinning out on the trails. i will do a pic album of this build.
