I own a 99' Toyota 4Runner with a 183hp V6 that displaces a max torgue of 217lb-ft. I have recently installed a class III hitch and a trailer lighting kit. Other than emergency towing and some practice with an empty trailer, I have not yet towed any really weight.

Toyota 4Runners have a max towing capacity of 5000lbs, a Gross Combined Weight Rating of 9200lbs, and a curb weight of around 3885lbs. Assuming four people in the vehicle at 150lbs each and 200lbs of equipment in the vehicle...

I have been thinking about lifting my 4Runner for a while and I have picked out the one that I want, but I am not sure if I should get it.

I really want to go to a park called Rausch Creek in Pennsylvania. I spoke with one person who said that I must lift my truck to go there. However, the website says that there are trails that can be done with a factory vehicle with even AWD. So, already I'm better than that with low-gear ranging 4WD. Has anyone been to this park and care to comment?...
