    Hey bubba, I saw where you posted this on a thread a while back...

    "I have the same issue, but it only happens when I drive on a wet road, and for the day after that, until I can only guess, it dries out. It does it at all throttle positions, except if I put it all the way to the floor, it runs smooth. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all new vaccuum lines, battery cables, the O2 sensor is relatively new, afm, ecu, tps, all new exhaust, blocked off egr, and still the same issue. i have no codes when i short the diagnostic terminals. I think I am going to try and throw in a new O2 sensor, because I have really exhausted all other ideas. let me know what you find, I will do the same."

    Did you ever figure out what was causing your problem? Because i have an idea what's causing mine, but im just not sure yet...Let me know what you figured out.

    Sup man? I've made a bit of progress, ....of course, with what spare time I can find! lol.

    Anyway, if you're interested, check out my thread, I think it's, "ChefYota4x4's 87 4runner Build Thread".

    Hope you're doing well. I'm about to put in the new header, studs, CAT, clutch slave, clutch master, then I'll move over to the intake side. Every other accessory is installed, .....as far as I can tell hahaha. Hope to hear from ya,

    Mark

    Anways, i wish you the best of luck man. my truck is like a whole new rig after finding that miss, it is smooth as can be, well until the bearing noise/vibes from the rear third and driveshaft kick in ha ha

    If you are going that far man, I would definitely do the head gasket, def good insurance. I think it's possible that it could cause an oil leak out of the sides like that. Sounds like a lot of work that will most certainly pay off in the end with a super reliable motor. Def no good on the rounded off crank bolt, maybe file to next smaller standard size or something...ha ha, I tried that on my trans fill plug that is absolutely frozen in there, it didn't work. I just drain the whole thing and replace with spec amount, no checking the level for me

    I know one thing, this thing is leaking(pretty much only while driving) like a pig, all over the engine block on both sides. I've cleaned it up, and if I can fix the plugged up Throttle body issue, injectors getting cleaned, new header, new timing chain/oil pump/gears/steel guides/ seals, intake gasket and all new vacuum lines......I'm hoping that solves the issue of the leak. However, if the HGasket is leaking oil, too(is that possible?), ...well, then I'll be PISSED to have put it all back together, only to find it needed that. .....So, whatcha think, Partner?

    So, at this point, depending on whether or not I can get that bolt off, I'm going to do the timing kit w/oil pump next, then possibly remove the head and just get that over with, now.(it's got 150k on that gasket, minimum, and I'm not sure the valvetrain has ever been messed with---ticks a bit, even though it runs perfect when it's not having that 'loop' issue, ....thinking it might just be time to replace the Head gasket and put some studs in place of those bolts, see what needs replacing or tweeking, then go from there. .....Seems stupid to go this far and not replace that HG, ...whatcha think?)

    Next;

    I removed the throttle body after marking off all the vacuum lines(OMGOSH, what were they trying to do to people? lol) and I'm going to remove the Injectors(walking them into RC Injectors, right up the street from me,...yeah! NO SHIPPING OR WAITING!LOL) . I'm also thinking I should remove the intake and replace that gasket too, and clean out every line I can access to the plenum, etc.

    I'm a bit concerned about the timing kit w/oil pump replacement because the crank bolt looks pretty tore up(AHHHHH, I'MA BE SO PISSED IF THAT THING IS ROUNDED!) I also want to make sure I do the chain right(heard many horror stories of things that go wrong....and yes, I've done a couple before, but LONG AGO, and since then, only belts-CAKE!).

    Hey Man!

    Ok, well, I was going to post a thread with tons of pics as to what I've done so far in my spare time(limited), but I've just started up this NEW PC because I got a Rogue virus on Photobucket(AHHHHHH, grrrrrrrr, LOL.....Recommend another site for dragging pics to this site's threads? I notice they don't let me post pics on threads directly from my computer! ...Hmmm, or is it that I'm too tardo to figure it out? lol...let me know, if you know, k? Thanks).

    Anywhoooooooooooooo;

    1st, I've removed the exhaust and IT WAS BLOWN, completely, in like 3 places(big leaks), including/also the collector gasket, which took 2.5 hours of the 3 hour project of removing the exhaust(2 WRONG nuts and 1 bolt frozen in the collector to exhaust manif. That bolt was a NIGHTMARE, but got it off.

    when you take all that stuff off to install/clean, giving the egr a good cleaning would probably work wonders too. sounds like you are gonna have one sweet 22re man!

    i don't envy you for going at a timing chain job my friend, with all the ifs brackets that pan has to be a nightmare. i havent done it on my truck, just my wifes old celica. but after you get all those goodies you have in, and dial in the valves, i'd bet you find it running much better. if your guy suspects the egr possibly heading south,
