Thanks Mokai - Steens Mt. road and the Alvord Playa were already in the plan - Mickey Hot spring was not....consider it added!

    Hey Geoff,

I recommend the Steens Mt. road for sure. It's the highest road in Oregon and its amazing up there. Also check out the Alvord Playa and the Mickey Hot springs are really cool. Have fun it's awesome out there.

Hey sorry to bug you but I see you've been to the Alvord Desert. That is the one part of the state I've never been to so figured I might ask your advice. I'm looking to go late June and hit the Steens and Alvord. Any don't miss places or recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Geoff

Surprisingly it does stay pretty dry. I even toyed with making a sheet metal cover but it's nasty around here right now and its pretty clean. Cleaner then anywhere else on the truck lol. Unless you put her inside something.

No Im installing an ARB compressor as well. Thats a good idea for a mounting location, does it stay out of the weather and free of tire slime in there ?

Oh, didnt know that. Ya that will be cool. You have an onboard air compressor already?
I just installed one in my arb bumper. I put it in one of those empty spots on each side. Worked pretty slick actually. I couldnt find anywhere else on the truck id want to put it, besides in the truck box in back, but I didnt like it there cause I don't always have the tool box in back.

Thats sounds awesome. ARB locker will be nice especially up front. Are you not happy with your factory rear locker?

Its going good man.. Over the summer I took a week long trip across Oregon over 1000 miles round trip with some real remote off roading. Made a sleeping platform for the truck bed with the canopy and it worked out great for the trip. Planning on getting ARB lockers front and rear here pretty soon, pretty stoked about that..Planning on playing in the snow allot this winter
