Hrey Rock Slide, Are you still an active member on this site ? Hope so,cause I need your advice on doing the TUNDRA Brake Upgrade on my 2002 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD . Mine is not the SPORT model like yours. I did it several years ago but have lost all my info as to which year TUNDRA Brake parts I used . Can you help me out. I even did the Brake Shied Dust cover trim. Hopefully you can help. Also, my speedometer has quit working , but the TACHOMETER still works. Happen to know the location of the fuse that would have an effect on this ? Thanks for responding back ! Take care, Hi-Tek-Rednek .

    Hey There,

I finally scooped a Hilux Field Monitor for my '99! Are you still around these forums? I have some questions regarding your write up. The wiring you state is:

"1. Blue/Yellow wire coming off the female end of the White Plug, taps into the Gray wire coming off the Blue Plug."

    do you mean:

"1. Blue/Yellow wire coming off the male end of the White Plug, taps into the Gray wire coming off the Blue Plug."

There is no blue/yellow wire that comes off the female side, but there is all the wires you state coming from the male side of the wiring harness.

    Thanks if you are around!

Aelfwine, Speed Sensor: Green/Orange wire coming off the female end of the White Plug, taps into the Grey/Blue wire located at the ABS Unit. (It will be the Grey wire with a Blue stripe on it at the ABS unit. You could also say it is the Blue wire with a Grey stripe on it.)

Hi! I've been reading your write up on the FMU install. I'm also installing one on a 2002 Sport. I have almost finished the wiring but can't seem to find the speed sensor wire. Would you remember which connector on the abs module its in? Or have a pic? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I was wondering if you ever fixed the dimmer problem with your field monitor? I might be able to help you if not... I'm on T4R.org too with a little more info about my rig.

Thanks for the comps. Be sure to check out my page for all my write ups if you have not already:

You'll love the WeatherTechs. While you're at it, pick up their cargo liner too. I just did. Love it.

Just wanted to shoot you some props and a muchas gracias for your posts, I followed a link from the 4runner forum over to one of your posts. I have started from the bottom with a stock '02 sport edition also so it's nice to see what you've already experienced. I'm about to order a set of weathertech liners after reading your reviews!
    Cheers

Thanks. I no longer have a way to contact my buddy in NZ, but I can recommend a few places that might have them for sale. 1. There's a seller on eBay that goes by the name: jdmisme. If anyone can get you a Field Monitor, he can. 2. I remember someone on www.t4r.org in the 3rd Gen section that posted a web site a while back where a guy (could be the same one as mentioned above) was selling them direct. You may try posting a message over there and see if anyone remembers the name of the web site...I can't remember it for the life of me. As far as price, they usually run from $125 - $300. Later.

Hello there Rock slide! I was wondering if you still have a way to contact the person you got you Field Monitor from New Zealand. I really like to get one of this. I will need one for a soonroof equiped 1997 4Runner. And How much can I expect to pay for a unit like this? Thanks you! BTW nice 4runner, I've always like the 200-02 Sport edition trucks!!
