hey man looks like I am going EFI getting DC's trail beater rig. I am thinking I should swap out the dash cluster so I can retain all the engine code crap. thinking of a full wire swap leaving the efi wiring unmolested as possible. any thoughts?

yep, i finish and have been enjoying my swap in my 92 pickup. I helped mod tofer with his 3.4 swap. And now i just finished a swap up in everett where i got paid 1200 to do the work. It was kind of a headache considering that the guy had someone else start it but flake out so i had to pull the motor back out and start all over. The guy also didnt 'have everything he needed so there was a lot of searching craigslist and nix 99 for misc. parts... But i just finished his swap this last sunday...

IT RUNS!!!! I took it to my uncles body shop to weld up the exhuast and holy cow was it loud. Once the exhuast was done i wired up the 02 sensors with my old sensors. Runs so smooth and its gutsy with my factory 4.56 gearing. So far no cel. But i'm gonna hook up a scanner anyways and see if anything comes up. Now all thats left are the little details and the hood cutting/hood scoop.

Today i finalized the the exhuast manifold and got it welded up. I actually was able to drop the moter in and bolted it up to the tranny. Now that its in, i realized that the flange for the down pipe is up against the torsion bar, thus the motor is not fuly seateded to the motor mount. Tomarrow i'm getting the torch out and heat the pipes and bend them in towards the tranny. I may also end up cutting the corner thats touching the torsion bar. Then its the fun part of tracing wires. Wish me luck...

So after stressing out last night i talked to my old boss and he told me a quick trick to chech for water in oil. You tear off a piece of newspaper and dip it in the oil. Then you put a flame to the paper, the oil will burn and if there is water present you will hear it simmer and pop as it burns. I tested NEGATIVE! So then i went ahead a poped the valve cover and no penut butter up top. From there i continued swaping the a/c over and the alternater. Then I took care of the tune up....

well, yesterday algranger came over to help with the swap. He started up on the exhuast cross over and I started up on the timing belt. while i was trying to break lose the crank pulley belt, my home made sst broke off the balance weight inside the pulley FRICK!!! now i need a new harmonic ballancer/pulley. Now here is the worst part. I pulled the oil sending unit and the oil looked creamy, not good. Then i pulled the pan to swap for the 3.o parts. The oil was already drained, and the half...
