Sorry, I just read this today! I'm not home right now, so I really can't access my wiring diagram manuals. You may have this all sorted out now, but If not did you swap the 86 engine harness and sensors on to the 92 engine when you installed it in the 86? The 86 used low impedance injectors (1.3 ohm), the 92 uses high impedance injectors (12-13 ohms). I assume your voltage checks were with the key on, even with a resistor in the circuit you won't see a voltage drop until the circuit is complete to ground. This is done by the injector driver circuit in the ECU. If this is functioning properly and the injectors are trying to fire, with the 86 ballast resistor (on the passengers side inner fender) in the circuit you are not going to get enough voltage to fire the injectors. The easiest fix would be to swap all of the 86 sensors, injectors, etc. over to the 92 engine and run it as an 86. Get back to me on whether you have this sorted out and I promise I'll keep an eye out for your message.
