"Your password is expired" Can't remember old password
I just recently took my old computer out of storage. The problem is that the password has expired and I can't remember the old password so I can't change it. I had this problem once before and I think I logged on as an admin to change it, but I can't remember how to do that either. Can someone help me fix my problem? Thanks.

If it is Win9x and is a "profile" logon (this should work on ME too) - just change the username and logon. This will get you into Windows. At that point, browse into the Windows folder and find a file named "username.pwl" (where "username" is the name of the account you forgot the password) and delete it. Then reboot and logon as the user where you forgot the password.
Win2k/XP is completely different...

There are various programs around to recover or bust Windows passwords. One I keep in my computer tech "toolbox" is Emergency Boot CD ... you download the program, burn it to a bootable CD and run it -- follow the menu from there. You can get the basic info about it here and more detailed info by clicking the "description" link (or clicking here. Finally, you can download the program through the "download" button or here.
Good luck!
