i'm finding the opposite...
win2k with 256 seems to load slower than XP pro. and the disk trashing is worse... of course i could imagining all that. i'm gonna try to update a win2k laptop running 256 megs with a lowend p3. right now, it takes about 2 minutes to get to the login screen... sigh...

btw, i would stick with a slimmed down XP...
wait... what does that mean? are you getting the XP that the EU is getting after microsoft gave in to their demands???? lol....

 yeah right!I just turn off as many bells and whistles as I can. I've gotten XP to run pretty well on machines way below the required minimum Microsoft recommends.
