Video editing software

Do any of you know of any free software that can edit mov files?

I use Microsoft Movie Maker on a regular basis. See if you have it in your programs list. Once you are finished with your "project," you can easily convert it over to a Media-friendly application, which I like. You can add tunes, titles, fades, transitions, and special effects (such as film age, which is cool).

I don't have it, I assume it comes with Windows XP or something. I have Win2k Pro. I wonder if I can get it for Windows 2000...

I've tried a few programs I found through google, including some trial versions. All of them have to convert the mov file to avi or wmv before they can do anything to it and in the process they recude the quality horribly.

Actually, I may have just found something..... MovieWorks or something. Guess I'll check it out.
