Question about connecting two computers, without a router

Yes it is possable if both have a cat-5 connection (ethernet), you will have to get a cross-over cable in order to do so. then just use XP file transefer wizard. should be just as easy to set up as a network.

Red's correct about cross over cable.
Here's an overview of what the cable looks like. http://www.cabletron.com/support/techtips/tk0231-9.html Another way to connect to Pc's together without a router is using either a switch or a hub. Both devices will bridge the ethernet PC connections. And, you use regular CAT-5 cable. |
