Just drag and drop the icon right next to the start button. If that doesn't work, right click the task-bar, uncheck "lock task-bar" then drag and drop and then right click the task-bar and check "lock task-bar".

I think you're having a comfsion of terminology here. It is NOT possible to put a document in the "system tray" the ssytem tray is the area near the clock that shows currently running apps (i.e. IM applications and virus apps, etc). The quick launch area of the task bar is where you can put shortcuts to any program or document. You can also do the same with any program or document by dragging to the start menu.

yup, I originally wanted the file in the sys tray, where the clock sits. This other way will work just as well for me, so no problem-o

sys tray requires programming. or maybe a small utility...
just open up the quick launch or do what i do... make a toolbar and slam it against the right hand side of the monitor...
