Talking New machine for me!!!!

After reading about Bob's (B17R) research I also started looking. It's been years since I actually bought a whole computer at one time.

I decided to get a decent package together and used NCIX for selecting my parts.
I use a small computer store, ran by a friend of mine. I met him shortly after I moved to Canada (1991) and he has always treated me well whenever I needed help.
I also like to support small stores where there is actually somebody who knows what he/she is doing and people get some support when necessary. I haven't needed the support for years but still believe in giving my business to stores like that.

Anyhow, it's a
Intel core 2 duo E8400 (Wolfdale) @ 3 gigahertz. 1333 Mhz front side bus.
2x2 gig 800Mhz DDR2 Ram
500gig sata Seagate drive, 16MB cache
Asus P5KC Mobo
Asus GEforce 8600GT for video
Running Vista Ultimate 64bit.
I stuffed it all in a Raidmax Smilodon box.

I am all liking it sofar.

Looking good.
You should be able to do some gaming with that too.

That is primarily what I built my new PC for.

Hey Corey,

GTA San andreas is all I play.
Using all the cheats I like to run around in different cars all over the place. Don't care for doing missions. I think all day at work, when I play games I want to just play. No real challanges

I was looking at ddr3 memory running at 1333Mhz, but it was almost 4 times the price.
I'll wait a while and then replace the mem + video card for something faster.

I actually want the horsepower for making dvds from my homevideo. Compressing the actual video for a dvd always takes ages. Hopefully this will speed it up a bit.
