New Ad-Aware SE

I first scanned clean with v.6 and latest updates. Then installed SE Build 1.03 and updates on XP Pro SP1 (waiting for SP3). SE found two new Critical Objects.

It features something called CSI technology and a raft of advanced options even on the free Personal version.

Would someone who knows what they're doing let us know the recommended advanced settings for a home and network user?

1. stop using IE.

2. i d/l and tried out SE on this machine that seems to have a ghost in it. still found it but since it was running in memory, it cant delete it. you need to boot into "DOS" using an NTFS boot floppy and DISABLING SYSTEM RESTORE before though, or else it will just keep coming back.

what i like about SPYBOT is they have a seperate app that just monitors IE behaviors and tries to shut down the mess that gets introduced.

1. I'm running FF with IE. There are sites FF won't display as well as IE.

2. Maybe that explains repeated detection of the same new Critical Objects by SE. Good tip on System Restore that I've used in the past but forgot about.

I still use Spybot and it's plugin Spyware Blaster, but the latest round of popups aren't blocked by the latest updates. Maybe everyone's waiting for SP2...
