need help with loading a game

okay, so i just got a new game, and i got it setup, but every time i try to run it it says im missing the dsdx9_35.dll file...

i downloaded a new one from dll-files.com and it started to load but then kicked me out referencing the same message, the dll file is missing...

im at a loss as to what is happening...
and it might be prudent to know that this is a copy of a game that a buddy gave me... so its not the original...

any ideas guys?

im running a P4 3.2ghz, windows xp SP3, running 768mb Corsair RAM, 2 800 gig SATA Hd's, a geForce 6600 512mb graphics card and an audigy Soundblaster platinum audio card...

all while trying to play MotorM4X...

anyways, i downloaded the files that it needs, and everything works fine, except whenisater playing it, and the game is loading, a box pops up telling me that windows needs to increase the virtual memory on the machine...then it loads, and i can maunver my car 5 feet in game, and the computer reboots... when it loads up, it says that the computer recovered from a serious error...

i feel like a complete noob because i havent played computer games in a while, but my system cant be THAT outdated, can it?!?!

well, since this is my dad's computer and hes been complaining about the speed for a while, i talked him into upgrading to 4 512mb of DDR400 RAM, and a new graphics card...

which will help the performance of the computer, AND, if it also allows me to play my new game, meh, its just an excellent side effect...

your not going to make much of a difference in speed with more ram. with computer parts being as cheap as they are right now, it may be time to upgrade .
