Monitor Question

I have an old Dell computer running windows 98SE. I want to get a new monitor. Can I use a widescreen or does it have to be a regular one? Thanks

you should look into ubuntu or xubuntu. It will run great on that old hardware and it will be a lot more secure and stable. I think you should have no problem upgrading the monitor just make sure your video card can handle the resolution of the new monitor.
