Laptop Memory

Hey all, I never know this section was here, but kool none the less.

Anyway, I got a compaq laptop for christmas
Core 2 duo and a gig of ram.
Id like to go up to 2 gigs.

I used to be very into the hardware and whatnot side of the computer industry, but its been a few years..Does Newegg.com still have pretty good prices compared to other place (idk the name of any other place online to buy from)

Ill have to get the exact specs on my comp but what are the companies i should stay away from ?

www.slickdeals.net search in the hot deals forum for SODIMM or something similar. You can get this stuff dirt cheap nowadays. Crucial is a great site tho for finding out what type of memory you can use.
