I use FireFox for everything! Hate IEEEEEE!!! If you are having some issues you may need to install some plug-ins. The main issues it may not work on all sites is that you may need to install Adobe Flash Player. A lot of sites are using flash now.

Talking

Firefox does follow all the web standards.

It is the online education site that refuses to use web standards and instead uses proprietary IE-only technology.

Firefox follow standards. Internet Explorer does not. The online education you use does not.

I run linux and don't mind not going places that are windows only as I boycott windows with a passion!!!this represents windows GO UBUNTU!!!

click yes... its just a simple script file with a curruption.. and i despise firefox.. in all my experiences it is not better, it is just the same, if not worse, especially if codes are written in an i.e backed format, it cant properly configure them. If you still have the error try google chrome.. or make sure you have the newest i.e browser.

Oh yeah google chrome! I forgot about that windows only browser! since I run linux I don't worry about that stuff!!!

Much less stress trying to figure it out and watch out for viruses!!!
so firefox works great for me! you should study " about:config " with firefox
and its many useful tweaks!!! such as faster browsing!

Lightbulb FIREFOX common tweaks!!

One link is to Ubuntu forums the other is to firefox forums

http://www.ubuntugeek.com/speed-up-f...b-browser.html

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewto...st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Search both sites for any other tweaks as these are the most common I need!

that seems counter productive if you have to tweak it right when you download it.. i mean why not just use opera or anything else. like i said firefox, its all hype

The thing is that any OS or Browser is set up for mainstream use even "opera"
if you search there is sure to be tweaks for opera as well!

Like Windows or Ubuntu there is a certain variety installed for common use! ie. laptops desktops servers! one may be in need of a certain realm and another for another so it by default loads certain functions that you may or may not need! For those savvy enough you can uninstall or install certain features for prefered performance!

I have to completely Tweak Windows or Ubuntu to run optimally! Same with Firefox or opera! most people are completely oblivious as to how to do such things so hence the standard! For the rest of us Tweak away and find better performance and or freeware that will do as good or better job at its function!

those who choose to remain oblivious pay lots of money for someone like me to fix their computer and get it to work well for them! I love those people.
