internet connnection

Ok so when Im downloading music and the such and I leave for a couple of hours it says I do not have an active internet connection. basically it kicks my internet off and I end up having to restart my computer. Has anyone ever experianced this or anyone have any Ideas to fix this?

There could be an option where as if your in active for so long it automatically disconnects you. I'd have a quick look through the prefrences of your internet connection (s) and see if you can find such an option.

sometimes your ISP does this so a virus cant activate on you while away... they do this as a precaution... your isp might have set protection and thinks your computer is inactive as it sends a basically a check signal, if it sees you are doing something it leaves you alone, if it sees nothing and then checks back again 5 minutes later, and again sees nothing it might trip a red flag and cut the connection..... the reason they do this is because most viruses dont activate until your computer is so called sleeping....
