How do you combine the emails from two Outlook accounts?
Hey guys,
I have a laptop and a desktop. I have primarily used the laptop for my work and the desktop for "play" (i.e. games, web stuff, etc). However, my laptop looks like it may give up the ghost and the keyboard/display is showing its age. Thus, I'd like to transfer all the emails, contacts, etc from my laptop to my desktop. Also, I am definitely working more from home and it looks like it will be that way in 2005.
I'm sure it has something to do with exporting the laptop emails to a .pst file and copying it into the desktop, but I am afraid that I will overwrite the desktop emails.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Bob

I believe you can just add your old pst to your new e-mail profile on the current machine. It shouldn't overwrite any older e-mails. If most of your contacts are in the personal address book then search for the extension *.pab . What version of outlook are you using?

You can export all of the info into the PST files and import them onto the desktop. Create new folders on the destination machine to keep them separate so you can dump over the info you want and ditch the stuff you don't. If you want a bunch of stuff moved from one folder to another, change to list view so you can highlight multiple items eassily for dragging and dropping.

Yup, you can name that file anything you want, just keep the ".pst" on the end of it. When you export and when you import there will be various options on what/when/where to export/import. Just pay attention to those and figure out what you need...
