.GIF manipulation question

I've got an animated image with a .GIF extension. Is there anyway to manipulate the image? Like cleaning up some stray pixels or changing a color or something? How about resizing? I've got some old freebie programs where I can do all this stuff with, but when I try it, the animation is static. Yeah, I'm 36 and still can't figure all this computer stuff out yet...

I use this site to resize GIFs and animated ones.
I also use it to make a GIF into a clear one.
http://www.animationfactory.com

Click on the GIF Works link
http://www.gifworks.com/

Then click File from the menu and open up your graphic.
From there you can resize it and do other stuff.
Most graphic progs will only resize it then to your dismay the GIF is no longer animated.
