You need to search here for my past post reviews on Firefox
![]() I do not like the browser because it does not like us. Nothing we can do, it is up to them. My biggest complaint is when hitting the back button here in a list of "view new posts" it takes you to the very top instead of taking you to where you left off. Midiwall has noted that they are aware of the problem, but who knows when it will be fixed. I love IE, and I get no pop ups with Service Pack 2. I still feel IE is the better choice.

this is the only forum that i have problems with....i use nasioc.com and s10forum.com alot without problem....i dont know anything about webpage design so my opinion is very bias...
I really like the tab surfing...keep me from having to open 15 different IE windows when multitasking....

The tab interface is cool, I did like that point about it.
But a lot of websites are not written to let Firefox view them correctly, so that is another of my beefs.

A lot of the problems are with Firefox. A lot of the problems are websites that write for functions specific to IE. Since YotaTech is basically just vBulletin and since vBulletin works fine in browsers other than IE, the problems with YotaTech are likely problems with Firefox.
But it's only at 1.0. When trying to ship a 1.0 product, a publisher MUST eventually stop fixing known bugs and concentrate on kicking the thing out the door. Now that they have 1.0 out, they can start to concentrate on the bugs. Since vBulletin is pretty popular, I'd expect making Firefox work well with it would be near the top of their priority list.

fwiw, this is the issue that Corey's talking about:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215405 It's a killer bug to fix.. Technically it's a core design change. I (and a boatload of other folks) were hoping that it would be fixed for the 1.0 release but it didn't make the bugbar. To point out though, it's something that a website _can_ fix on their own. The issue has to do with the question of handling BACK on a site that declares that the browser shouldn't be caching things. The spirit of a web site using cache control is based on caching icons, pics, form data, text fields, etc. Mozilla (the Firefox core) took the "no-store" flag a bit too literally and doesn't cache the page position in layout history. That's what you see happening. If a website removes no-store from their cache-control, Firefox will be fine.

gotcha.....well this is the only site i've ben on that it does, at least I notice it does, since I click back and forward alot. But it doesnt really bother me too much. Just the fact that I get no pop-up anymore is wonderful. With IE I barely got any but when visiting sites like ebaumsworld, abum etc I always get a few that would slip by. That never really bothered me, but when I started it up one day and I have a google.com toolbar that I know I didnt click yes to add I got a little ticked off and figured I'd try something new. Regardless I really like it, and althought this forum doesnt look 100% its still looks good and I feel alot more secure using it. I was in a MIRC chat a long long time ago and one of the guys in there could resite my history in the IE history, which made me uneasy, considering I run spyboy search and destroy religiously, NEVER click yes to anything and always know what I'm downloading and even though I know what i'm downloading I run it through an very updated norton antivirus, which I also have run everyother night and I usually check windows updates daily....I dunno if IE is more secure then it was then but at many bills as I pay online I really dont want to take that chance.

I've been a Netscape series fan since the days of it being Mosaic. I _have_ to use IE at workd because of corporate sites that have locked themselves into non-standard coding and credentials based security. But I only bring it up when I have to...Firefox runs all day long. (and yes, I'll get a headset so you and Bentun1t can hear me yelling at you. )

I suspect that this change showed up when Chris moved to the released vBulletin code along with the server move. it's never bothered me, but it should make Corey happy now.

It works great, but still a complaint.
With my IE toolbar where you can store your bookmarks, I also have yellow folders there that expand that have many links in them. I dragged and dropped and organized my Firefox toolbar with the bookmarks, but it will not let me drag and drop a whole yellow folder full of links like IE does. Now I have to go to the faves and select them the hard way. I wish there was a way to place a yellow folder there like in IE.

I do it all the time. Drag the folder to the toolbar itself.

Hmmm...
Click View | Sidebar | Bookmarks (or just hit CTRL-B) Does the top line read "Bookmarks ToolBar Folder", or something else? If you drag a folder of bookmarks from somewhere else and drop it on "Bookmarks ToolBar Folder", does it show up on the bookmark toolbar? Did the folders that you're trying to get on the toolbar come from importing IE bookmarks? If you right-click on something _IN_ the Bookmarks ToolBar Folder (don't click _ON_ the folder), then pick "New Folder", give it a name, and click OK, does it show up on the toolbar as a folder?

Mark, it is working as I type.
I did the Ctrl B thing, and at the top is the BT folder. The two yellow folders I wanted are: Forums (which contains tons) Speed Tests (to test my line) The two mentioned folders were already in the BT folder, just out of site. I was able to grab them and drag them to the top ![]() Here is a pic Thanks a lot for the tip. PS, one more thing. I have the pre-release version 1. In the top right corner is an update link. It tries to connect to download the update, but it will not. Could their servers be that busy, or will the version I have not upgrade to the final release? If not, I will have to uninstall this version and then install version 1.
