Firefox 3.0.3 crashing?

I updated all of my PCs a week back to the newest update.
But just today my main PC Firefox started crashing late afternoon.

Not earlier today, but later in the day.
Weird huh?

Googled this.

More from Google

Is this happening to anyone else that has the latest Firefox?
This is with XP Pro too.

I'm running 3.0.3 on my XP box and my Ubuntu box. The only crashes I ever experience are on my Ubuntu box but I am pretty sure that is the Flash plugin that I use that causes it to crash. My XP has never seen Firefox crash.

Do you run any extensions? Extensions would be a likely cause...

The only extensions are one that can save a webpage to a PDF file, and Add Block Plus.

But the browser never saw these crashings until yesterday.

I am running Addblock but not the other. Based on that link you posted, it seems like a lot of people are having the problem. I guess I would go back to an earlier version and turn off automatic updating if I was having trouble. You could always use IE

I hate IE
I got into Firefox version 2 a few years back, and have not looked back at IE.
I only use IE for the Windows updates.

So far no crashes this morning in almost an entire hour of surfing.

I didn't read all of the link info, but an IT friend says it's due to incompatible extensions.

I didn't have the problem, but deleted FF anyway. I can't chance losing daily data between weekly backups. IE7 has been good, and IE8 beta has lots of new features that should give FF a run for the (free) money.

My Ad Block Plus extension is an older one, I will update it and see how it goes.

Thanks for the tip Bob.

Not one crash all day.
I think updating the Ad Block Plus solved it, at least for now.

And believe me, Firefox has seen some extensive use today researching stuff.
