Connecting a laptop to TV, works but won't show video???

I connected my laptop to a 60" Panasonic DLP tv, which has a RGB input, lets you connect a cable from the monitro output on the latop to the tv.

I'm using the blue plug, which connects to the tv.

I can see my desktop now on the TV, etc. but when I play any video in windows media player or any video in general, it shows just a black sceen within media player. I can't see any video...

Please help or let me know what I need to do in my settings???

For my laptop, this is what i do when i encounter this problem:

---right click on your desktop --> properties
---next, go to the settings tab, then click the advance button
-----in here, click on the display tab.
----- in the display tab, you will see Monitor, Panel, and TV.
----- click the little , connected to your tv prior to doing these steps.
play the movie, it should appear on your TV and not your laptop. (laptop will show the desktop, but will be black when the video plays)
Click on the power button next to the panel to get the video to appear again on the laptop.

FYI: i have an ATI and i use S-video to connect my Laptop to my TV.

Goodluck.

Gene.

Thanks. I ended up fixing it when messing with the settings. I chose CRT monitor instead of LCD and the video shows now on the tv, but now not on the laptop, which is fine. I can now change it back and forth!
