computer moniter display larger than moniter

We just hooked up a computer and the web page display on the moniter is wayyyy too large. Looking at the screen right now when I type, all I can see is maybe 1/4 of the whole page because its so "blown up". I can't see the scroll down bar, and when I look in the upper right hand corner, I can only see the minimize button, no maximize or the close window tab. and in order to see the smiley icons, i have to use a scroll bar on the bottom!

I tried going into properties and looking for something in there, but wasn't able to do so. any suggestions? this is pretty annoying. The screen is so big, i'm looking at colored pixels instead of just color!

HELP!!!
