i am able to capture video fine but no sound i am running a (don't laugh) HP Pavilion a530n with a Amd 64 athlon not sure of the video card, probably built in to the motherboard, any way i am able to capture video, but no sound, i am using the USB cable that came with the camera, is that the problem?

Is it possible that there's another cable to feed the audio into a sound card or sound port in your PC? Please try another PC if you can download video+audio. It's possible codec problem. A codec is a piece of software that reads audio and video.

But, try another PC first to see if it works.
