AVG anti virus software

One of the best just got better.
I use the paid for version 7.
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

Got it last year after Mcafee's license ran out and they wanted me to pay again

Dr. Z recommended it to me.
Mcafee is bloatware, and yeah, I use to brag how good it was, and if Boeing uses it exclusively it must be good enough for me.
It slowed down my system a lot, and AVG does not.
I can not even tell it is running for any taks.

The only beef I had with it was when you click on the update from the menu by your clock in the sys tray.
Every time it asked if you wanted to update from:
Internet
Folder
CD

That gets very old.
With the update that came out the other day, it will remember your choice now after selecting a check box.
I always update it straight from the 'Net.

I've used the free version for a long time now and like it just don't want to pay for it just yet. I keep screwing up my hard drive and having to format my c: drive.

Hey anyone need computer work????

I've seen this discussed before, but how does it compare to NAV? I'm running Corporate 8.1 that I get free from the Navy and I know that its a resource hog.

Well Mcafee was a hog, and I hear that NAV is even more of a :pig:
I will not run anything with the name Norton in it on my PC.
I like my system resources to be running at the best all the time.

I did compare both Mcafee and AVG before together, and AVG caught and came first to my rescue when I was getting hammered with viruses daily in my email.

Uninstall NAV and give the free version a try and see if you like it.
See how much faster your PC boots and lets you get to work right away too.
With Mcafee I had to wait a bit after booting into the OS to be able to do some things.
