I don't have one and I've never heard of a setup, at least a consumer setup, to allow 8mm film to be transferred to digital.
For VHS, etc., you want a DV bridge. For 8mm I don't know what you'd want. It might be easier to have a company transfer it for you and just to specify they burn it on an unlocked DVD so you can extract and edit what you want. I'd like to get a bridge one day, but still, in order to get the best quality out of the video you'll need the best quality VCR. That is, one with stereo sound and preferably an S-video connection. And even though it's really expensive, this JVC is lloking mighty sweet. Sorry I couldn't offer more. |

i used a dazzle video creator product with an analog breakout box...
did a decent job... otherwise, if i had to do massive analog conversion jobs, i would just connect it to my D8 dig cam and then capture via firewire...

I used Airlink Vision video capture for USB 2.0. Works extremely well. Has some neat software with it too.

How was the quality of the capture? Did it skip any frames? That would be a lot simpler than copying to another camcorder.... but I wonder if the picture quality would be good....

I've got an old ASUS GeForce 2 card with video in. It works just fine for video capture.

Greetings,
I have an ADS Instant DVD 2.0. Does Analog from any source being a Coax, RCA, SVGA or Digital Capture. Came with some good software also and since a newbie at this was happy at how simple it was. MvCrash |
