It would help knowing what type of CB you have.

Try taking the ashtray out if you don't smoke and putting it there.

I am wondering the same thing, I have tried taking the ashtray out and doesnt fit by about 1/2 inch... I got some pics, tell me where you think I should mount mine...

I need a place to mount the CB and the thing that holds the Mic, Any suggestions? I would also appreciate pics of similar CBs installed in a 2nd gen. Thanks, John

BTW I only notice how dirty my interior is when I take upclose shots...

This is member "mytruck's" install in one of his Toyotas, an '89 which is just like the 2nd gen 4Runners dash.
It is the Uniden 520.

I have a huge CB in my rig, and currently it is below the glove box.

Ok, I decided I want to put the cb where the ashtray is but i gotta take out the plastic thyat holds up the ashtray. I took out the two screws holding it and find that there is a light that is wired on the plastic thing. Is it already just to cut the wire or will it mess somethign up? Just dont want to mess up my car.
