1) swap the mic out (old 28/29's will not turn on with a blown or no mic)
2) check the in line fuse (i've blown many) 3) check your SWR and antenna coax for fraying or kinks and mashed parts (if the fuse was blown this or the mic could be the cause) The CB is old, last time Cobra made a side mic 29 (not designated "Classic" and sold at wal-mart) was the early 80's and 20 channels is also early 80's (as long as you've got 9,12,19,and 20 you dont need the rest)

Thanks for the reply. I found a place today to take it and it turns out it's fried. I could have spent 20$ to get it back up and running but the technician told me it probably won't make it much longer anyway. I'll rat hole some money and just buy a new one. I really need to be able to trust this thing once I get off road.
