OEM Toyota CB40F

Most people don't know this, so I thought I would share.
In the late 70's early 80's Toyota made a batch of CB radios.
These were all prewired to plug into the stereo harness and bypass the trucks speakers.
They were designed to fit under the stereo in the Minitrucks / 4runners and in a special pocket in the Landcruisers and HINO semi's.

Toyota also designed / built in a new antenna system to go with it.
These looked / fit like stock units, and were also power amplified and a direct plug'n'play unit.

I have 6 of the CBs and 4 of the antenna units... i'm entertaining posting them for sale, but i'm checkin to see if anyone interested ?

I would be depending on the price. You can buy new ones for cheap so depending on the price and if you guarantee them to work.

Thanks, James

that's pretty cool, if I didn't have a killer setup already I would be down for one. I am curious how this antenna system works though. Any photos/info on this?

I only have one close, the others are in a tote in Polebarn 3 hrs away from me.
all the connections are pretty standard. I'll get what images I can of the connectors and antenna out.

I gave one to my buddy, he uses it all the time, and it works better ( father range and clarity ) then the $130 Cobra he had.... for what ever its worth.

I'm ready to buy a new radio as my Midland died. How much do you want for it. Pictures when you can.

Zip 97361

Thanks

There is almost no information to be found on these radios anywhere on the Internet. Most of what you find are questions with no answers. A few years back I started keeping an eye out for these radios, and over the years I've come up with a few things. I’ve finally scanned and photographed the things that looked like they’d be useful, so here they are. I’m posting this in 40 Tech because at least some of the information is model specific.
