Question mount cb on ceiling

I have a 92 pickup and I want to mount my cb on the ceiling. I have seen pictures on here of a guy that did it. I just want to know what to mount it too. It feels like between the sun visors it is double walled. I just dont want to screw through the roof.

At the front edge of the roof, about 2"+ back from the windshield is framed. If you used a 1/2" or 3/4" self tapper in there you'd be in the clear. Make sure before you do this, as the 2" gap I've dealt with was on a 79.

Good luck, I'm going to be putting a switch box where my dome light is soon, so whatever you find will help me.

In my 93 I have an old Pace Edwards Shelf-it, which basically hangs from the visor mounts, with my 2M HAM mounted in the center. After doing a search, it looks like they are no longer available new for Toyota pickups. This setup has served me well for years, I used to bump my head on the radio, but got used to it quickly.

Sorry no pics on the photobucket yet

Boon, I'll let you know to try and help out with that switch box. And firemaniac, if you could get pictures it would be a big help

just to get it out there. It is a head injury safety hazard to mount the CB on the ceiling. So give it some good thought.

How did that turn out? I mounted mine to my ceiling with a custom mic hanger and it came out sweet!

We regularly build brackets for our trucks that mount to the visor clip screws
