Got a Cobra 19 Ultra

I just got a Cobra 19 Ultra was wanting to put it in my 94 Toy 4x4. Where is the best place to mount it in the truck and what antenna would anybody recommend to use with it. I have seen a few posts here where they are mounting in the ashtray slot, will mine fit there?

Thanks,
Bryan

I just did it, it should fit in the ashtray area with some minor trimming. I used the bracket they supply and sole bolts and bolted it right onto the top part of the plastic of where the ashtray mounts and it works fine.

I tapped my cigg lighter for power just by plugging my cb wire into the and voila it works with my key in and thats that.

I am thinking about splicing in a set of wires so I can use both the lighter and the cb at the same time though or get a plug from an older yard toyota and spilce in a 2nd connection

Have you got a pic of your setup? Is yours the original Ultra or is it the Ultra II or Ultra III?

Well i got a Firestik II, now i got to figure on how to mount it. I have a toolbox in the bed of the truck, I just cant seem to find a mount i can put on it. I have found all kinds of bumper and mirror mounts. Thinking possibly of using a magnet mount on it. Has anyone got any ideas of where or what i could use on the toolbox to mount it with?

just get a 1/2'' adapter from radioshack and drill a 1/2'' hole in your tool box.
remember the tool box must be metal to work good as a ground plane.
