Garmin iQue voice changes? Topo maps?

I was sure that when I first installed the garmin software there was an option to change between a male and female voice (in English!).

Anyone can confirm or refute this?

If possible can you inform me how? I have searched the Garmin site and it only speaks (pun ) of changing voice by language.

(I'm getting a little tired of the holy than tho female voice telling me I'm off route and recalculating )

Thanks
Mark

PS anyone purchased the MapSource US TOPO 24K National Parks (West) CD? I found it for US$166 - Ouch! Any place with better prices? How have you found it, operationally?

Can't help you on the voices in your head (oops sorry mean GPS's head)

But I buy all my GPS goodies from www.gpsnow.com. Great selection on Maps, GPS acc, books, etc. Also great prices.

Topo West 24K National Parks $90. It is a pretty good map, used it for DV. I just wished I turned on the right topo map in DV, we would have had a lot more info.

Thanks Andries and Bob (by pm)

I don't know what happened to my waypoints for DV. When I lookup the waypoints by the "Find Recent" I get all the points but they are indicated as being NE 7846 mi in ther Atlanic Ocean just off the coast of Abidjan Ivory Coast and the point is indicated as Ballarat WTF

The only waypoints that are correct are Devils Golfcourse, Racetrack, Trona, Furnace Creek Campsite and Westside Road.

Looks like I need a snorkel on the 'Runner for Warm Springs Junction, Ubehebe Rd Junction and Saline Road commencement which are all located in the ocean...ROTFLOL

Yeah you'll need a big snorkel for ocean driving

You got the garmin tracks and waypoints I send you? If so once you get the 24k map you will be golden. I use NAD83, and you will see how the tracks map out on each road really nicely.

i don't think it is possible on mines. I got a Garmin Quest and the only changing of voice is different languages.

No male speaker, only female here. Unless your wife is mad at you for talking to another female
