That section would've suited the topic better. Request a move? I'm trying to fit a 15" x 10" amp in. I'm not sure there would be space in abundance down there.

Just out of curiosity does anyone tend to worry about the amp getting too hot under a seat like that? i know people who do it but has anyone had any problems? slick look though not gonna lie!

"You can also switch to 3-channel mode, then power a subwoofer with 300 watts RMS while the other two channels power a pair of full-range speakers."
That's straight from the Crutchfield product overview, so 2 6x9's and subs, it wouldn't think twice about it.

It is a bit of over kill but it has never failed me yet and after running for 5 1/2 hours straight(Southern Maryland to Yonkers New York 240 miles for a party with the Pope I will explain later) at more then half volume , I have a thing for loud like I am having my own concert levels and it was still cool to the touch.

Ok not sure which post to start on here but I will start with the crutchfield comment - never ever ever go by anything they say!!! Second under the seat is ok except for a few things. Dust!!! And moisture!!! Your carpet is full of both through out the year. Rear quarter panel? Well that's ok again you have to deal with some dust but not a killer. On top of an enclosure? Vibrations can be harmful but usually ok untill someone see's it and wants it!!! I personally would make a spot out of mdf off to the side of the enclosure with it back firing. I could design it if you like. I usued to be an installer working with companies like mtx soundstream and image dynamics. Three elements to try hard to fight are heat dust and moisture. If the inside of your rig does not get over 115- don't worry about heat and remember the inside of your car can run as much as 20 degrees hotter than out side temps

The YONKERS Motorcycle Club is the oldest MC in the world with a certificate from Guinness book of world records stating so they were established 1903 and I am friends with a lot of them.
Every year they have a party with the POPE Meet the POPE The POPE is a 1913 POPE Motorcycle from founding member George Eller the man who started it all in 1890's and every year since his death (WWII era) they throw a party for him and since he left the 1913 POPE to the club and it sits in there club house they fire it up(peddle and pop the clutch to the leather belt drive and turn the tire like mopeds so I guess mopeds have been around a lot longer then most people know) for a min and then the party begins. Here is a picture of the POPE ![]() There club motto I.Y.C.P.G.T.F.H. If You Can't Party Go The (****) Home

also what kind of Sub are you running? the 300 watt rms power at 2 ohms may not be quite enough power. Always go about 100 watts over the subs recommended power and use the gain to reduce that. the reason is if you are under powering your sub then the motor has to work harder to make noise, also meaning the amp is working harder to produce it. both produce heat and then all of a sudden the amp shuts off. bad juju. my 12in sub alone uses 1000 watts rms and is 87% power efficient (remarkable for a 7 yr old sub). i run an amp that is single channel, 1/2 ohm, 1400 watt rms, just to run the sub (also not many subs/ amp combos can handle 1/2 ohm). also remember enclosure size matters alot and if your running a bandpass or simular enclosure the sound reproduction will not be near as crisp as a normal enclosure.

yeah i was looking into that, and decided to probably go with a jl audio sub that runs at 4 ohms and handles 300 watts RMS

that would mean your amp is insufficient to run it. Honest man i would use the 4ch to run your mids and highs and them buy another amp with atleast 400-600 watts rms. JL makes a great sub. one of the first places i worked was for a JL dealer (before i went to car audio school) even the W0 with as cheap as it was did wonders in the right enclosure. My second subwoofer i had (in a VW bug) was a JL W6 10" dual coil 2 ohm. I series the coils to make 4 ohm and hooked it to an older rockford amp ( cheater amp) and the beat was deafening. I am more of a sound quality guy and listen to alot of country and old rock so i decided on the Image Dynamics IDMAX 12' D2 V.3 ( because i like it and i got it for under half retail) and am MA Audio 1400 watt amp. they "match" perfect.
