What woofer setup should I choose?

I've already decided I want to get Alpine gear (rest of my system is alpine) and have it narrowed down between two choices and would like peoples opinions.

Choice 1: A guy has a 12" type-X Woofer for sale with the box, wires and a Rockford Fosgate amp for $500.

Choice 2: Buying two brand new 12" type-R woofers as well as all the wires and a box to put them in witch will cost almost $1200 without buying the wires.

So what's the better choice? This is just going in my Corolla. Is it better to have the two woofers or will have the one type-x that I can really put the watts to be just as good or better?

it all depends on the sound that ur looking for and by the way i think those type R's seem kinda steep on the price... But ya a type X should be much louder. Personally i would like two type R's but u just need to make sure u have the right box.

The price for the type-rs seem high because it includes the two subs at 199.99 a piece, 229.99 for the box, 399.99 for an alpine amp (and that's on sale) Plus the 15.5% sales tax that we have here, it all adds up.

I don't have as many options for buying online in canada as you do in the states...

Well it looks like I'm getting that type X, went to see it tonight, the guy has it set up in his civic and it sounded amazing. It just seems like to good of a deal to pass up. Comes with the woofer, box, Capacitor, Amp, and all the wires I need to hook it up. I should be picking it up next week sometime

Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.
