Subwoofer Wiring Dilemma..
Hi guys,
I recently upgraded to a 99 Tacoma Extended Cab so I've decided to swap in my old sub setup from my 89 Runner. A buddy of mine tossed me an extra sub woofer he had laying around and I'm wondering which set up will be better.
These are the specs:
Pioneer 185w RMS 4 ohm Amp
Pioneer 250w RMS 8 ohm Sub
Sony 300W RMS 4 ohm Sub
I know the amp is pretty under powered but will it do better with the Sony or the Pioneer? Off the bat I thought the lower wattage would do better but I'm not really sure how the resistance comes into play. Anyone got an answer for me?

Old posting butIm pretty sure if you wire an 8ohm sub to a 4ohm amp it will cut the RMS power in half. Which would be less than 100 watts RMS. Your best bet, til you upgrade amplifier would be the Sony. IMO.
