Speakers: How to remove Front and Back?
Hello All,
I want to remove the stock speakers in the front, and the back too, of my '95 4Runner. For the front, I started unscrewing a few things in and around the glove box, but quickly became concerned that maybe I was doing the wrong thing since I did not see any progress with respect to finding clearance to the front speaker (specifically, the passenger side, haven't tried the driver's side). I feel more comfortable working on the mechanical end since I can manhandle things there. But I'm always afraid of breaking something internally. Does anyone have any step by steps on how to remove and replace the front speakers? Pics help a lot too. I figure, since I'm asking, that the request extends to the rears too. I may as well replace those too. So any step by steps and pics for those are appreciated there as well. By the way, I'll simply be replacing the old ones with like sized speakers. I won't be doing any mods there. Thanks in advance, of course! ![]()

It looks like I was almost there when I was taking it apart myself. I just needed to do some pulling on the glove box to finalize the effort (since I did not know if there were other hidden screws, I did not want to pull and break something without consulting the group here). I looked up to see if the site in reference had anything on the rear speaker access. Unfortunately none that I could find. Nonetheless, the front removal step by step was exactly what I was looking for. Again, thank you, Elton! If you come across anything on the rears, let me know at any time on this thread. ![]()
