Show me your home theatre

The stand was given to me about four years ago from member Drew, I am in need of a better stand.

Cheesy YouTube vid, to bad it can not capture the sound and picture like it plays

Now that I have an HDTV and Blu-Ray player, I have been thinking of upgrading the sound system.
The one I have now is fantastic, in fact I have two of them.
It is the Logitech Z680 PC speakers pumping out close to 600 watts.

I have one for my gaming PC, and one for the TV system.
The way it hooks to the TV is via the TVs RCA red and white jacks out into a 1/8" male stereo plug to fit into the rear of the pod controller for the Z680s.
It plugs into the "front" jack on the pod, and the pod converts it to 5.1, 2.1, whatever effect I want.
However the PC has the green, black, and orange out from the Creative soundcard, so the PC utilizes the three cables as seen in the picture below.

And the Blu-Ray has an optical (toslink) cable out from the player to the Logitech pods optical in.
This makes DVDs sound better than the the DVD players HDMI or component (my older DVD player) inputs.
It is all 5.1, but the optical just sounds better.

The new TV looks incredible that I picked up about three week back, and I got the Blu-Ray last weekend.
Movies look much better when "up converted" to 1080, and a Blu-Ray disc is pretty amazing.

The TV:
Samsung - 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: LN40A530

The Blu-Ray:
Insignia® - Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Output
Model: NS-BRDVD

The HDMI cable:
Rocketfish™ - 4' HDMI-In-Wall Cable - Dark Gray
Model: RF-G1160

VGA to VGA plus audio cable for the laptop to the TV:
25ft HD15 M/M UXGA Monitor Cable with 3.5mm Audio

What I am thinking for my next upgrade is a true home theatre sound system with a tuner.
I have been out of the stereo scene for home for a very long time.
I know I need one that will accept optical in, and I would more than likely just use the HDMI sound from the Blu-Ray to the TV, and then use the TVs optical out and run it to the receiver.
This way I will have more control over the sound since I can utilize the receivers graphic equalizer, and also have the tuners FM to boot, although I rarely listen to FM, as I can pipe Sirius satellite radio from any PC in the home to the new TV via cables I use.

Does anyone have a good suggestion on a nice sounding system that has plenty of bass too for the movies to sound like you are "there?"
The current Logitech system I use can rattle the place, and explosions in movies or soundtracks of music sound incredible on it, as well as a newly released AC/DC DVD I just picked up.

I think the main advantage to a newer 5.1 setup would be the ability to have the EQ to shape the sound better.

Here is a picture of my homemade screen. It is made from a material called blackout cloth, stretched tightly over a wooden frame. The size is 96" diagonal. I also made the entertainment center out of 3/4" oak plywood.

Here is my Infocus projector, mounted on the ceiling with a homemade mount. All the wires are hidden either in the walls or in the ceiling.

I am still running a 5.1 digital sound system, and I haven't upgraded to Blu-ray yet either. We use the system mostly for watching DVD's although I also have the VCR (yes... we still have one of those) and the digital cable box hooked up to it.

I'll have to remember to snap a pic tomorrow.

MK (Miller and Kreisel) sound system, K7 x3 .. L/Cntr/Left .. then K4 dipole surrounds with sub... specifics escape me now. I'll get details tomorrow.

Denon 7.1 reciever.

Sony 50" SXRD 1080p

Playstation 3

It's all wired up through ceiling/walls with Monstercable Pro series 24k connections, etc same with all the HDMI/toslink cables.

It's breathtaking.

I highly reccomend MK. They're a studio monitor company primarily (ya know, like recording studios, movie editors) but they also do professional theatres.. if you can afford their stuff.. its amazing. I spent 2 years researching sound systems for our home and happened on MK at a aquaintances personal home theater. Was sold.
