RCA outputs?
I have an older (and by older I mean really old, like 10+ year old) pioneer super tuner head unit in my truck. I want to hook up a small tube type sub to it and while it does have 2 plugs on the back that look like rca cables I wonder if they will work?
It has a plugs thats def labeled out and one labeled rear iirc. Are those it, they look like the kinda plugs a VCR has on back. I am only looking to run a small bazooka tube as I have 0 room for a sub box and I aint removing the extracab panels again to put subs in there.

if all else fails you should just be able to cut the ends off and hook it into the left and right speaker wires

if the two plugs are labled out they are the RCA outputs and yes they do look as you described.

Uh, no you won't. If you cut the RCA cable off of a line level output, you're barely going to hear anything, if at all. Those carry a signal that must be run through an amp. Or, with a built in crossover, a powered sub, like the Bazooka or an Infinity Basslink.

Just buy an RCA cable and see if it plugs into those places. From the discription it sounds like they will. |

Ok, you have front and rear RCA outputs on your deck.
You want to hook up a sub. you will need an 8 gauge wire from the battery, a remote turn on from the deck and an RCA from the deck. you also need to make sure the bazooka has a built in crossover, because the deck will be giving it a full range signal, you only want a low range signal (sub based frequency) so you MIGHT need an external crossover (if the sub doesnt have one built in). DO NOT cut ANYTHING... unless you want to be shadetree....

I kinda figured that all out Greg, whatever the case I am gonna get the sub and go talk to the guys who install at my brothers job to make sure I am doing it right.
The only things I am not sure of is the remote turn on and possibly the crossover-but I think the bazooka has one built in. Wiring is VERY easy, I have a aux fuse panel on the firewall I can tap with ease.
