Mp3 player help

Hi guys, not a big poster but longtime lurker. Will be posting a lot here in the future. To start with, I sold my 97 taco and bought an 07 double cab 4x4 trd.

My first I guess you could say upgrade is that I would like to be able to hookup an mp3 player to the radio. I would rather not use the crazy adaptor or something with wires coming out of every accessory port. Is there a way I can wire something straight into the back of the radio and just have a small pigtail somewhat secured in one of the trays under the radio to just hook it up to?

I'm sure this has been discussed before but havent' seen anything on the new model trucks. Any help?

And my other plans for anyone reading:

Get rid of the Toyo MTs and try to find some bridgestone at's. I loved them on my other truck.

Nerf bars

Baja bar or bull bar. some call it a safari bar.

Okay that didn't take long. I read the forums even further and looked at Crutchfield.com and found (I think) what I was looking for.

So now off to try and sell my tires.

Your best bet would probly be to just go to best buy or something and get an aftermarket radio and wiring adapter and a face plate adaptor for an '07 Taco. You can get a radio with an AUX IN port (auxiliary in) and then just use the standard double sided 3.5mm cable like your headphones to go from you mp3 player to the radio. Some radios have an AUX port in the front some have them in the back. If you get one in the back then you can wire it discreetly like under the dash or into the glove compartment. Also, if you are good with computers research prices on the net, ebay is generally like 40% less than best buy if you search. You can also get a head unit with HD radio built in so you can get better radio or be able to run your mp3 player. I would imagine that it’d be pretty tough to wire something like that into the stock radio. Someone else on here may be able to elaborate on this for you.

Crutchfield.com has a place to select year, make, and model of vehicle and find an adapter the appears to wire inline on the back of the radio. Gonna call monday and see what the deal is.
